On the Pi ∞
Tested 2013-07-22 on Raspbian (whatever version comes with NOOBS 1.2), updated recently.

\sudo \apt-get install xrdp
Learn the internal IP address of your Pi. You can either run ifconfig
to get it, or script it:
\ifconfig eth0 | \grep inet\ addr: | \cut -d':' -f2 | \cut -d' ' -f
On a Linux desktop ∞
Tested 2013-07-22 on i686 Lubuntu 13.04, updated recently.
\sudo \apt-get install rdesktop
Logging into it is done with:
\rdesktop -f 192.168.0.2
- Use the IP address you discovered earlier.

-f
is for fullscreen. Presscontrol-alt-enter
to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode.
