A military man is enlisted into a mission to save Chicago United States from a terror attack.

A fantastic, emotional, movie. This has all the elements of quality which make a movie truly great.

I'm surprised I took next to no notes. There really isn't any actual "substance" to this film, in the sense that there are few references to people, places, or things. It's all one contained package that is surprisingly easy to lose time with.

An comet's path crosses the earth's, and a shuttle crew is to rendezvous with it to plant nukes to divert its course.

With a decent story and good characters, the science proves, unfortunately, fundamentally flawed. It's still a good watch and doesn't show its age.

An evil scientist constructs a robot surrogate and transfers his consciousness into it to carry out his plans for global domination by kidnapping a very wealthy sheikh's son.

A watchable moderate-budget movie which somehow still falls into an 80s-cheese style. It's rare to find such a bold movie, even with it being unashamedly graphic to the point of dark comedy. I think that's why I like it.

It's worth watching once.

Upon hearing of his master's death, a man returns to Shanghai amidst tensions from its Japanese occupation, and learns there was foul play.

Quite a good movie, with all the basic elements. There's next to none of the B-movie cheese that's pervasive of such films, so it's good enough for everyday people.

A mountaineer in India gets captured by the British during World War II, fleeing until circumstances bring him in the company of the Dalai Lama in Tibet.

A story about a man, until it nosedives straight into the politics of the hostile takeover that turned Tibet into an autonomous region in communist China.

An American captain, suffering from PTSD-induced nightmares so bad he became alcoholic, is brought back into the trade as a consultant and trainer to suppress the civil war in Japan and fight against its old warrior class, the samurai.

Dare I say this is one of the greats. It has various classic elements without being tiring and obvious, and maintains a great pace and tone.

On the way to moving to a new town, a girl stumbles upon and is trapped in a pocket dimension with an old Japanese bath house run by spirits and non-humans.

SHE SHOUTS A LOT

A spectacular movie. Youthful but with a balance of fantasy spectacle and horror.

A man, waking with no memories and thought to be a serial killer, flees his pursuers and not only learns he isn't who they think he is, but they aren't who they think they are either.

A fantastic movie.. at no point was I bored. To me, this one of the foundations of a particular movie style. It isn't that it's whatever kind of "neo-noir" but that it tells a tale about reality itself.

A recently-ex-con world-renown hacker is swept into the well-planned efforts to fund long-term anti-terrorist terrorism.

I-like-hyphens.

Ignoring the Hollywood-hacker bullshit, it's a good movie, particularly because so few, at least at its release, would be so A-class and yet have this particular topic. It helps shape the understanding of the passion behind Lawful Evil.
