Package forwarding ∞

Package forwarding, alternately called "gift forwarding", is a way to have an address that receives packages on your behalf and then forwards them to your real address. Your shipping-relationship is abstracted away from the fan to the company you do business with. This feature is also provided by "package consolidation" services.

Sometimes ones webcam agency or streaming website will provide such services, otherwise one must use a company on one's own.

The package forwarding address may still seem like a P.O. box, but it can be in another city or even another country.

This is important for maintaining the privacy of a performer and the facade of the performing-personality. Claiming to live in Kansas, United States but receiving gifts to Perth, Australia appears very strange indeed.

Receiving gifts ∞

Wishlists ∞

One of the simplest ways would be to use a wishlist, such as an Amazon Wishlist.

When providing the URL to a wishlist, to make sure it's country-agnostic. Use .com instead of something that reveals your country name.

However, these look too much like begging and should almost never be used. Receiving a direct gift is far more personal and is therefore better. The entire "angle" of webcam modelling is its personalness.

A post-office box ∞

A post-office box maintains some anonymity, but reveals its own location and associates it with your own. If your post-office box is in the same city as you, which is reasonable since you'd have to go pick packages up, then it tells gift-givers what city you are in.

Rejecting a gift ∞

One could reject the gift, but doing so in a webcam modelling context is impolite at best, and at worst will lose a fan. Accepting a gift is also very important for a sort of foot-in-the-door technique that would let a moderate gift further-endear oneself to a fan.

Physically getting packages ∞
