Thoughts on black Americans talking like uneducated idiots.
Shut the fuck up and talk like a normal person ∞
How can I interrupt someone to have them talk "normal" to me?
There are people who literally speak complete gibberish.
The problem isn't just that I have to shit on their dialect by telling them I don't understand them, but that a person always knows when they won't be understood.
How do I get someone to stop disrespecting me by talking nonsense then blaming me for not understanding?
This isn't just AAVE (African American Vernacular English). I could tell an American, a Scot or a Brit off and they can choose better words and drop phrases (8:00). They can talk slower so I can ask questions or propose alternate words so we can communicate properly. 8:30 -- Since they aren't over-sensitive pansies, I can definitely tell one to their face that they're talking nonsense. Yes, they can talk slow, and even make fun of my dialect by mimicking it. This obviously isn't a racism thing..
This situation can't guilt me into giving a flying fuck about respecting someone's "cool speak" when they already know and speak our common simplified-British English dialect.
Again, how do I get someone to drop the act and not make me the bad guy?
How the author appears ∞
First, she seems like yet another fashionably faux-black person. People that pretend there is a culture and hop on the bandwagon like it's cool. The entire "African American" concept in all of America feels made up. Yeah, in that supposed mixing pot that ended up as self-segregating cultures. People cling desperately to foreign cultural identity instead of finding common ground with their American values.
To me this is another privileged young white black woman whiner.
Next is the victim complex.. another feature of the "African American" label. I suppose I should forgive her narcissism, since that's a basic and forgiveable feature for YouTube authors. But the racist hyperbole doesn't help prove the point of this video. It's just a little tweak on Marxist-inspired racism.
Then there's the mind-reading. Assuming what other people think and why they act.
Then there's the authoritarianism. Telling people how to act.
Then there's the Orwellian wrongthink. Telling people what to think.
The layers of assumption, racism and disrespect make this video easy to hand-waive and walk away from.
