- When the disk is in heavy use, it does slow the system down significantly.

Auto-dismount linked to a countdown or times of day
- Possible, if somehow it could deny lock access to new files after a certain point and dismount when all locks are clear. I might even opt for a forced dismount after a certain period of time.
