I used Call Log as a way to clear my call history.
- This was necessary since the Doogee X20 is modded to be more compliant with the Chinese Communist Party and disabled Android's call history removal.
- Simple Dialer has call removal functionality, though it's not in bulk.
- I'm not using it on my new phone because I have no idea where it came from, and it appears to have been abandoned; 1.1 was released in 2014.

- The audio playlist feature is abysmally space-wasteful landscape.

[unsolved] - Iconify/remove the silent notification for "Nfc Service"
- I managed to collapse the NFC notification so it's smaller at least.
-
I used SuperFreezZ App stopper on a whole lot of things; let's see if I break my system.
2020-08-05
- I wanted to clean up the home screen, so I froze some Google apps, but a plain search bar persists.
-
The default contact app can't handle more than two phone numbers for a contact. Sad.
- I installed Simple Contacts (the Pro version)
-
I didn't recall that there were multiple locations for me to save my contacts. I intended to have them all on my SIM card specifically so I can trivially migrate it to another phone, but apparently it was all half-assed and duplicated.
- Thankfully there were straightforward export/import features.
-
My SIM card worked out of the box with absolutely no configuration whatsoever.
- I didn't even have a dialog box pop up asking me to use a wizard or some such. Wow!
- I migrated everything by hand, which was a lot of labor but quite straightforward.
- It took me a while to figure out how to enable Nfc.
- I explicitly made sure it had no access to WiFi and had no SIM card, and yet it claimed to have updates available. Creepy.
-
As expected, Google has still infected the hell out of everything everywhere, trying to collect as much data as possible.

Note that you might have to reboot to see the effect.
You can also consider SuperFreezZ App stopper.

However, for Android 12 and Android 14, use Good Lock. I don't know if this would apply for Android 10.
[unsolved] - Removing the google search bar on the first home screen ∞
-
I can't get rid of the google search bar on the main page. At best I can freeze the app.
[unknown] - Silence the NFC ∞
My Dimple would cause a loud sound every time a button was pressed.
I did fiddle around with notifications and this sound went away, but I don't know how I did it! It does still vibrate, and I'm cautious about exploring the settings to remove that, in case I undo whatever did the muting.
[unsolved] - Iconify/remove the silent notification for "Nfc Service" ∞
The top drag overlay has a "Silent notifications" list, one of which is the "Nfc Service" I need for my Dimple. I don't know how to hide this notification so it's just an icon in my top bar.
There's no functionality to have an icon enable/disable it just like there is for, say, location services.
This problem is important to maintain Nfc access for my Dimple.
--
A few days later, I fiddled and fiddled and found a way to collapse it in that dropdown menu. It's better, but still visible.
