Americans overreact to a misunderstanding and go on a genocidal warpath across the globe and are somehow winning except for a superweapon of peace.
It does its best, but it doesn't do enough world building, character building, or anything really. While it isn't a waste of time, I wouldn't recommend it.

I missed a chapter timestamp.
The timing is estimated.
-
1:00 -- Reading.
-
1:30 --
- 2:45 -- Los Angeles
-
3:00 -- The Republic of New Asia.
- aka the Chinese
-
3:45 --
- Ko Nang - New Asia - 2065
- I believe "No Nang" is fictional. It seems Vietnamese, making this a nod to the Vietnam War. I guessed this even before the military moment.
- 9:00 -- Why wouldn't they gun her down? I guess she was running to the defenders?
- 10:00 -- Of course that would happen. What would they think the scanning is for? Why were they fleeing to their doom?
- 10:30 -- Five Years Later. (2070)
- 14:45 -- I recognize that actor. That's Gemma Chan, who I know from Humans - (2015 show)
- 16:30 -- Neanderthal
- 24:30 -- Why wouldn't they have advance notice of their arrival? It's not hard to detect insurgency with 2070 technology..
-
27:00 -- Wouldn't they have explosives?
- 27:45 -- Like those explosives, but, like, with them..
- 29:00 -- If he's the can-opening expert, he needs to stay there.
- 32:15 -- How far could she go in 1.5 minutes?
-
34:30 -- The Child
- Oh, it's one of these movies, with chapters and names.
- 38:30 -- He does his job; roll credits.
- 39:15 -- He picks up his gun, shoots them both; roll credits.
- 42:30 -- John Wick appears.
- 45:00 -- What's a female?
- 46:30 -- "Alpha" isn't a name.
-
49:00 -- Take the gear with you..
- 51:30 -- Oh, so they did take the gear.
-
50:45 -- They'd be easy to shoot; roll credits.
- Chase after them; roll credits.
The Friend
- 55:15
- 56:15 -- go native
- 1:05:00 -- Explain how they infiltrated the police of an enemy nation's capitol.
- 1:05:30 -- I'm still confused as to how the ring wasn't detected as a tracker.
- 1:09:30 -- So why was there a hologram there? I couldn't tell in all the murk how that device got playing.
-
1:10:45 -- So I assume the area was radioactive from the warhead?
The Mother
- 1:12:00
- 1:13:30 -- Just talk with her on the phone?
- 1:18:45 -- Why does he drink?
- 1:23:00 -- How could a fucking battle tank sneak up on them?
- 1:23:45 -- Why did he dive into the water instead of walking onto the pier?
- 1:24:45 -- That remote explosive is precisely why I was confused about such a huge and slow target being front-line. Why wouldn't it be back in siege support with the soldiers moving quickly on ATVs?
- 1:25:45 -- Why would those things have such rough artificial intelligence?
- 1:26:15 -- Why wouldn't they grenade the bridge?
- 1:27:45 -- Why wouldn't the guy try to have some sort of cover?
- 1:28:30 -- That's not 100 metres.
- 1:31:15 -- So about black people having children.. are you telling me that this is a scan of her unfertilized embryo, or is this a scan of her embryo fertilized with a sperm that is definitely not black?
- 1:32:45 -- 1:32:45 -- I figured this was somewhat Tibet-like in elements. This makes it China.
- 1:39:45 -- Why wouldn't they shoot him immediately?
- 1:43:00 -- This is confusing. If they wanted to terminate the weapon, then why were they trying to capture it earlier? Did they get or do a thing with it and now they don't want it active?
- 1:46:30 -- Look music, this is not epic in the least.
- 1:47:00 -- So why would people be able to just go up to the lunar base? You can't even make a flight to a local place without reservation.
-
1:47:30 -- So they make a call and ground it, right?
- 1:47:45 -- Why wouldn't they do that right away?
-
1:48:30 -- So it does have defences, right? Just shoot it down.
- Even with civilians I would have shot it down. This is the extinction of the human race we're talking about.
- 1:50:45 -- Why wouldn't they have launched a long time ago? I get they might have been worried about civilian casualties, but that should be said.
- 2:00:00 -- So why would missiles need a connection? Is that a thing?
- 2:03:15 -- Then traditional nukes drop..
-
2:04:15 -- That's a female.
This ending stretch was so confusing and bad.
