This is a must-watch movie, not for its story and plot as-such, but for its feel. It has ideas which really stick. I think Buckaroo Banzai might be particularly cool for young boys.

Buckaroo is a multi-talented savant superstar. The character and the club house ideas are unique in film, even to this day.
Though early on, the truck brand itself is awful to see, the rest of the technology in this film has a very low-high tech feel to it. It's got the grungy alternate-universe feel, like Alien (1979).
Back to the Future's Flux Capacitor might be inspired by a device displayed early in Buckaroo Banzai.
I'm really confused as to how many bad guys came from the 8th dimension. Shouldn't there only be the one single bad guy who came through from the first experiment?
