While a really great game, it somehow didn't do it for me.

I created three sets of HSK1 flash cards to aid with daily drills.
In the future, I may work on more advanced HSK levels as well as word, phrase and grammar flash cards.
This was a crapload of work not just to make, but to print and cut.
If you got through Chinese is hard, why learn it? and still want to learn, then there are some things you ought to be prepared for.
5000 words total. Lawyers and professionals. Academic-level translators. Probably 6-7 years of very serious effort.
2500 words total. Professional interpreters and expert translators. Fluency with all common media (magazines, newspapers, music, movies).
1200 words total. Conversational skill. Basic interpreters and translators. Reasonable with all common media (magazines, newspapers, music, movies).
Reaching here would be a victory.
600 words total
Everyday language. This is the absolute minimum to achieve to be able to say you can speak it.
300 words total. Good enough to get around and sound like an idiot tourist. =) 2.5 years of good effort with online or basic learning and without immersion (moving to China for a while).
