I have nothing but positive things to say about this game. Except for the negative things.

I haven't done a proper review, and might bother some time later.

Minecraft - SmallLogo.altform-lightunplated_targetsize-256

https://www.minecraft.net/en-us

A procedurally generated survival game with shitty graphics, which became popular because it was first-to-market and took advantage of nostalgia.

Unfortunately, Minecraft was never completed and the author fucked off with the money to make another game. Even with extraordinary success, the author didn't make good on promises and the game was never finished. (It would later be "finished" by having a recipe book concept and an "end"; neither of which are any good.)

I loved this game, and even bought it twice to support the developer, but because it was Java it would bring a computer to its knees. Being sold out to Microsoft (for their upcoming virtual reality stuff I'd bet) was bafflingly insulting.

I would try it again years later, and it hasn't had basic improvements.

Aliens come to ruin an already-ruined earth.. which also already has aliens.

Quite an excellent game.

A tactics game so good it's worth buying a PlayStation 2 for. It got released on Steam so it's a game so good it's worth buying a PC for. :)

  • Properly titled Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
  • Disgaea guide
  • My notes began for the PlayStation 2 version but have been checked and updated for the Steam version.

A multiplayer, text, third-person shooter originally made for DOS, but I know it from Novell Netware.

I had a hell of a lot of fun with it. Perhaps it's nostalgia which makes me stay so fond of it, but I think the fundamental gameplay still holds up today. I could easily imagine a great updated version of this but I have and still do see this same gameplay in all sorts of other top-down games.

A top-down shooter game which uses music to generate levels.

Absolutely fantastic! HOWEVER progress is not auto-saved! Who the fuck makes a game where you can abandon everything you've played just by pressing a button too many times?!

  • Abandoned; the website is gone.

A top-down action fighting semi-roleplaying game.

I played quite a bit of it until early 2015. Spiral Knights is an exceptional game, but unfortunately as of the last time I played it, it lacks balance and so it lacks variety.

This is an exception to Java sucks, therefore everything made with Java sucks.

A zombie-survival first person shooter that I played the hell out of until late-2015. It still had a very active player base.

Balloons threaten monkeys, and you coordinate their defence.

I'm big on tower defence games, and this is a very good one.

The Flash version is liked. The Steam version is disliked. Maybe the more adult multiplay on the Steam version would make it worth some money, but not at its price.
