I don't know if this version of Lubuntu, or whatever it turns into when updated, has systemd. I'm going to say no because 14.10 is so damned old.
It's an official project by Ubuntu to maintain something lighter.
I've been using Lubuntu more-or-less against my will for a long time now. I don't like Ubuntu. There's something dirty about it.
