Betrayed by his partner-in-crime over syndicate buy-in money, and by his wife over his affair, a man returns from his assumed-murder to collect his cut from their last job.

An amazing movie that has a great tone throughout. It's straightforward and blunt. Although Mel Gibson is flat, it works for both the character and the movie.

An archaeologist seeks an ancient Egyptian amulet to gain godlike powers.

A great fan film. I wish I had a better source than the 240p on YouTube, but I didn't actually look around at all.

This is a steaming pile of shit. Do not watch it!

Ghostbusters (2016) image

Having fallen from grace, two friends are reunited in their pursuit of ghosts, eventually forming a band of four who fight them. And stuff.

This is neither a sequel to the actual Ghostbusters (1984), nor is it anything in its style or quality. It's just a theft of the franchise. It shits all over it. Ignoring all of that, it's still an awful movie on its own.

This is not a comedy! Don't mistake it for one! The only funny scene had nothing to do with the main characters.

The apocalypse happens, and a bunch of average celebrities try to survive.

Moderately terrible. Worth a watch if you like these particular actors and their previous works.

An assassination attempt on a senator gets her two superpowered-bodyguards, one of whom has the hots for her and whose investigation leads to a mystery that has remained shrouded for ten years.

While nowhere near as good as I.I, this is an adequate watch and certainly head and shoulders above Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.

Definitely do not watch this until you have episode III lined up. At present, I do not know if there is a phantom edit of that. So.. I don't know if I can recommend this. Right now it's flagged as disliked, but I don't feel that I wasted my time watching it. I just feel let down by the ending.

The Trade Federation blockades a peaceful planet, and decisive action is required to bring political and military strength to bear.

An astonishing improvement on the original. Even though it's lower visual quality than it's original can be, it's worth a watch. Very highly recommended especially to fans of the original trilogy who were disappointed by this new trilogy.

  • Properly titled Star Wars Episode I.II: The Phantom Edit
  • This is an edit of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace
  • Continues from Star Wars II.I - Attack of the Phantom
  • There was a Star Wars Episode I.I - The Phantom Edit (notice the I.I) which was a VHS-only release with a longer running length.

    • The DVD release cut two additional scenes.
    • I do not know if the VHS and DVD releases have different release dates, or know for sure if the one I reviewed was actually released in 2000.
  • TODO - this has a commentary track!

Vampires are real, and a secret council, whose formation is never explained, support a good-vampire on her mission to mercilessly slaughter bad-vampires in search for the worst-vampire who she was told killed her father.

For a while I was quite captivated by this movie. It was good in every respect, but it seemed to take a turn for the worse half way through, and just kept sliding. Overall it's good, but elements of it are too similar to other famous movies for me to really find it interesting, especially since those elements are rushed.

It's decent enough to recommend for a one-time watch.
