Desperate for intelligence, a brutal killer is implanted with the memories of a dead operative.

A surprisingly good movie. While not wholly original, it's a good mix of interesting elements. This isn't really a spy movie, and has a surprisingly strong emphasis on characters.

An agent's god-daughter is kidnapped under political circumstances, and complexities necessitate him forming his own team to rescue her.

Quite a good movie. Excellent pacing and music.

A brainwashed CIA assassin who tried to retire-hide in India with his commonlaw-wife gets pulled into a mystery and stuff when she is killed in an attempt to frame him.

More of the same. Forgettable. It's not worth continuing this series.

A man is fished from the sea and has no memory. He is on the run, but he can use a gun, and a little martial arts like Bruce Lee.

Long and drawn out, with a plot that doesn't even remotely begin to make any sense whatsoever until the movie is basically over.

Brings nothing to the table. I think this was successful not because it's any good but because it was shown during a drought of movies in this genre-ballpark.

A Swedish intelligence agent tracks a missing shipment of arms, uncovering a link to a mercenary organization.

Exceptional. This is not Jame Bond-style, but is a proper adult movie.

A non-secret organization learns of an assassination plot against the delegation of a new country, and brings on board the ex-girlfriend of the man in charge to save them.

Good enough to spark my interest in these old cheezy spy movies and shows.

Hitman (2007) poster

I'm not sure how to describe this movie. It's .. it doesn't have the sort of consistency that makes it stick in memory enough to try.

It both feels like it has a plot line and that it's all over the place. Overall it neither crafts a "feeling" nor has memorable characters. It was watchable enough to get through it all without really cringing, but it's definitely not re-watchable and I wouldn't recommend it even as bubblegum viewing. It's successor, Hitman - Agent 47 (2015), is way better.

Two agents become an unlikely pair to thwart the creation and deployment of a nuclear warhead.

I overall liked this. It has a classy feel something like the old James Bond films but with its own flavour. Younger fans of that genre will likely also like this movie.

Hitman - Agent 47 (2015) poster

A super-soldier program falls apart when its author goes rogue, but when its heirs move to re-capture him, not only does one of his creations turn against them but so does his greatest creation, his daughter.

What was, in so many respects, an original piece in an original world, it has various inappropriate quips and so obviously draws from other sources that it wears thin for a fan of them. Definitely recommended, but I'll leave it up to the viewer to decide on if they'd re-watch it. I reference several other sources which ought to be watched at some point, and I think their viewing would reveal just how thin this movie is. Good, but thin.

  • Properly titled Hitman: Agent 47.
  • Continues from Hitman (2007).

When attacked, an idiot stoner learns he has training he never knew he had.

An unintellectual fluffy bubblegum action movie. Easy on the brain and good for the common man. Not a spy movie as such. Recommended for beers and popcorn with friends. Still worth a watch for others who can just barely tolerate such brain-candy.
