An experimental gate technique strands unlikely survivors on an ancient ship.
A really shitty attempt at thieving from the La Femme Nikita - (1990 movie) character and universe.
A washed-up former Karate champion tries to clean up his life.
A direct sequel to The Karate Kid - (1984 movie)
Nothing could possibly go wrong in an amusement park populated by robots.
A reboot of Westworld - (1973 movie)
Time travellers recruit an everyman to help save their world.
Crude and un-funny.
A man attains mystical powers originally for selfish reasons, but they taint with a life fraught with danger and demons.
Not a bad show, but the lead character's personality isn't attracting, and there's the old celestial stick-up-the-ass personality in another. The lead female is hot. Hotty hot hot.
This was cancelled after one season. Back in the 90s this show would have done well, but I'm guessing this genre has alternately been well-poisoned or saturated. This show has too much it has to be better than to catch enough attention to survive. I think that it's magic-fantasy was competing with an extraordinarily-strong superhero-fantasy genre.
- 2014-10-24 - 2015-02-13
- More-or-less based on Constantine - (2005 movie)
.. which in turn is based on the DC comic book series Hellblazer.
A military unit is sent on missions in a future where all of humanity is at war with alien insects.
The show is animated, and not "anime". As such, it has not held up well with time. The music is fantastic, though. Truly. However, its other high points do not make up for the visual issue I have.
While it doesn't do it for me, I would recommend this for fans of the movie or movie series who can also handle the visual style and jerky movement that to me is reminiscent of ReBoot (1994-09-10 to 2001-11-30 television show).
- Properly titled Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles
- Ran from 1999-08-30 to 2000-04-03
- Based on the book.
Based the movie Starship Troopers - (1997 movie), and is definitely not a sequel to it.
