Aliens drop by Earth and evil Humans shoot them down and mug them.

Nothing about the interface makes enough sense, and there are no hints as to how things work. It could have been made much better, even back in the day. I'm not going to forgive how bad it is, especially since there was zero effort by Steam to actually fix basic things like aspect ratio.

You must fight through a bad interface to fight invading bugs.

Awkward and annoying.

Be a wizard that runs around casting spells.

Really hard to play, but because its gameplay is bad. A new game, but it looks and feels like a PlayStation 2 game. Get it if it's on sale for a laugh, otherwise don't bother with this one.

Be a robo-ninja and stuff; another one of these "run around and mash buttons" games, but with an awkward wall running mechanic that you ignore and instead run around and mash buttons.

It's a piece of shit that doesn't have working controls at all. How did this make it through alpha?

Be a gang member, run around in a sandbox world and shoot stuff, I guess.

It's alright.

  • Note that the original Saints Row - (2006 game) was only released for the Xbox 360.

A multiplayer, text, third-person shooter originally made for DOS, but I know it from Novell Netware.

I had a hell of a lot of fun with it. Perhaps it's nostalgia which makes me stay so fond of it, but I think the fundamental gameplay still holds up today. I could easily imagine a great updated version of this but I have and still do see this same gameplay in all sorts of other top-down games.
