I don’t know if I’m going to include SoundTracker in Oldschool Linux or not. Probably not, since the focus is on consumption and not production, and I’ll have Audacious as my main audio player. Well, unless I decide on using Open Cubic Player. =) SoundTracker is easy enough to get working, so it’ll get packaged and included in the main Unity Linux repository.
Tested 2009-08-16 on Unity Linux 0.99-alpha2, updated 2009-08-15
smart-root install libgtk+-devel libgdk-pixbuf2-devel libSDL-devel
libgdk-pixbuf2-devel and libSDL-devel are optional, but I’m installing them anyways..
During configure, I got:
*** ALSA v0.9 found on your system. No audio drivers available
*** for ALSA v0.9. No problem, just use OSS driver or JACK instead.
- Runs fine out of the box, I didn’t have any sound issues and I didn’t need to configure anything.
- It has a nasty old font.

soundtracker --helpgives me:
Usage: soundtracker [OPTION...]
GNOME options
--disable-sound Disable sound server usage
--enable-sound Enable sound server usage
*** buffer overflow detected ***: soundtracker terminated
