A hacker learns reality is not as it appears.
A sci-fi ripoff of elements of Lucid dreaming, with elements taken from the Neuromancer/Shadowrun "cyberpunk" genres.
A pioneering movie for special effects, which have held up quite well, and its general pot and atmosphere. Technically not original for science fiction fans, but great nonetheless.
One of my favourites, although I really wish the actor playing Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) was good looking.

Two acquaintances keep bumping into one another until a friendship starts; testing the scientifically-proved uncontestable fact that men and women can't be friends, which is a total fiction.
Phenomenal, even all this time later and compared to everything that was made before and since. Billy Crystal really carries this movie.
TODO - My DVD dies 2/3rds in, and needs to be replaced...

A couple moves to a quiet and friendly town, but the wife, with no job and her kids grown up, has enough free time to be unhappy.
Many movies build very slowly, and this one comes from a time when that was acceptable. So if you can handle have the patience to not fidget while you wait for "the big reveal" then you will definitely like this.

A dog is transported to an alien planet whose ruler is bent on going to Earth for world domination.
Maybe it's a Canadian product of its time, but I find it simple, wholesome, and good for very young and very smart kids.
