You can continue to try to get emails, and this repeats
Change your account settings to use a secure connection when fetching email. I used TLS and it wouldn’t prompt so much and sortof self-healed.
After deleting .msf files, I see no emails when I look at a folder ∞

Thunderbird has a VERY VERY VERY FUCKING STUPID MAILBOX FORMAT.
Screwed up trashcan ∞
- Emptying the trashcan makes it vanish
- Compacting the trashcan nukes thunderbird

Only when there is something in the trashcan.
A folder with that name already exists. Please enter a different name. ∞
When making any folder anywhere. Solution unknown.
