An docs team IRC meeting was held.
One of the foremost topics was leadership and general organization. This general description was agreed upon for the leadership position:
The Documentation Team Leader for Unity Linux will be in charge of all documentation, internal communication, and public relations. He will ensure the various outlets are consistently written to, including various blogs, Twitter, all announcements and news, the wiki, mailing list, and buglist. He will correlate all activities between the Development Team and the community at large, as well as be willing to take up the responsibilities of any member who cannot complete a project.
A vote was held, and I was elected.
Other major team and leadership positions have been decided, but there are still some organizational issues being ironed out. Right now everyone's more focused on internally releasing the new build3.
We're also taking it slow so we can be inclusive to internationalization, specific desktop considerations and some other finer details.
On that note, we've got an ever-growing list of people who are either lined up to volunteer or who have projects which would benefit from Unity Linux. I've been able to chat with some people on IRC, but that's going to become less possible since I'll be focused on cleaning some internal stuff up.
We're working hard on some docs technologies, internal docs/tutorials and then getting everyone on the team up to speed and on-task. After all that, we'll be working on a breakdown of the completed, working, planned and undecided technologies that will make Unity Linux distinct from other projects. I hope all that will become a proper press release.
