I can't actually use the YouTube messaging system. Firefox is completely useless.
Whatever has been done with Firefox over the last many years has only made it progressively more inconsistent.
Sometimes it runs really well, and other times it's REALLY bad.
I can only assume that I have add-ons which are screwing things up. I'll have to begin making the tough decisions and removing as many of them as I can. I have another long-standing issue I've had which I need to track down this way.
The fact is that I cannot and WILL NOT surf without a certain number of modifications to my surfing experience. The top of that list has always been the removal of advertisements, but I've also found it extremely annoying to have basic functionality that was DONE WRONG by the original programmers and which has been denied improvement for years and years. When an add-on fixes that kind of thing, I find myself compelled to use that fix.
A good example has been the modification of the search feature. For a long time, it was broken and the functionality to search within editable areas was removed. I used an add-on to revert the functionality. That has since been semi-fixed, although the new bottom search bar is still fucking annoying every so often.
But for the longest time, Firefox has been worthless with plugins and heavy JavaScript (AJAX) stuff. Frankly, I would rather launch a separate program which can deal with flash, than have it trapped in the Firefox "operating system".
If websites continue to suck ass, and my browser can't correct things so that they're usable on MY terms, then why the hell should I deal with those websites at all? It's like having all my text be right-to-left and being forced to use that crap. No thanks. I'm going to be abandoning all "web services" because of this kind of crap. If it has an offline equivalent, I'd rather use that. Take webmail. I'll never use that garbage again. Same with feed readers and anything else I can think of.
Dammit, this is just shite. I hate being repeatedly flogged by the software I'm forced to use.
