These instructions are UNTESTED.
Almost every single new application or media player will play 5.1 audio. Even if it can’t it will downmix to stereo, but the xbox 360 is awkward. Here’s how you use the encodes we very kindly share for free.
After following the guide you will have 1 MP4 file
- 1 x video track
-
2 x audio tracks
- Audio track 1 is 2 channel stereo @ 128 kbps
- Audio track 2 is 5.1 – between 384 kbps / 448 kbps
-
Download https://www.videohelp.com/software/MP4Muxer
- (Windows)
-
Make a new folder anywhere you like.
- Name it MP4Muxer
-
Extract the MP4Muxer rar file to that MP4Muxer folder.
When you look inside the MP4Muxer folder, you will see:
- read me .txt = ignore it
- mp4creator = ignore that aswell
-
MP4Muxer = green circle and thats what we want biggrin.gif double click to open it
—
- When it starts, click on Demultiplex
- Browse to the MP4 with the 2 audio tracks
- Left click once to highlight the 5.1 audio ( its the track with the highest bitrate )
-
Click delete track
Then wait about 2 mins at most your file is now xbox 360 compatible or anything else that can only read stereo.
Delete track 2 if you only want 5.1 audio and its that simple no more muxing or messing.
Our releases are now all 5.1 and the 2 channel takes up about 100mb per 90 mins so its very little extra to seed to keep xbox 360 friendly
