Unfortunately, it's Java.
See, the thing is.. I needed to figure out what a .dlc file was. After some research, I learned that this file format is for an encrypted links list for JDownloader. Yeah, encrypted. JDownloader is locking its users into a proprietary format. And they say their program is "free". Mhm.
Well I'm definitely not going to use it in the long run, but what about for this single file I had? It's Java, and it's supposed to run on Linux, but does it? Nope.
No, it grinds my computer to a halt. No screens no nothing. I have to kill all java processes. Even nicing doesn't help. I eventually had to
SysRq-E and just reboot to get use of my computer again. Even killing java didn't stop this thing. Seriously, I have no clue how this thing survived a
killall -9 java. There is no spoon.
So after multiple tries I can confirm that this program is a piece of shit like all programs written in Java, because Java itself is a piece of shit.
Seriously, has anyone in the history of the universe used a decent Java program? A few of them exist out there, but they're only any good in spite of being written in Java. This is a serious feat. Eventually even the best of the best fall flat. Because Java fucking sucks.
