I’ve been using the Firefox operating system for a long long time now. It’s quite popular, and it’s even being turned into its own OS Thanks to this “Web 2.0” bullshit and its “web applications”.
Flash was bad enough, but now we’re just getting stupid.
Through all that time I’ve kept notes. This is usual for any piece of software I use. Yes, I keep notes on everything. If your mother was a piece of software I’d have notes on her.
At some point I started to mellow out, and I began to research only the particularly annoying problems or features I really needed. So while my notes aren’t as complete as they could/should be, they’re pretty good.
Keep in mind how annoyed I am at any piece of software and multiply that by how often I use Firefox. Then square it. Represented in two dimensions, it approximates the amount of effort put into fixing Firefox’s broken defaults.
Yes, they’re all broken. Anything I don’t like must be broken, right? .. Guys? Sigh.
v3.6.3 ∞
Ok, let’s begin. I’m using Unity Linux rc1, running Firefox 3.6.3.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100305 Unity/1.9.2-0.1 (2010) Firefox/3.6.3
Where do we begin? Add-ons? Nope, we begin with the very core stuff.

Migration from Firefox 2 into Firefox 3 left me with some unsolved mysteries. Please comment on this post or contact me if you can help.
When opening a link a new tab (middle_click), it inserts a new tab directly to the right. I want it to open at the far-right (possible with control-middle_click).
When closing a tab, go to the left tab. This used to be doable in Firefox 2.

Themes
I’ve already talked about Firefox dark themes.
I talked about how to Darken Firefox’s blank start page (about:blank).
There are also personas which is yet another example of the stupid direction things have been going.
