Might be good if I want to go to a more technical distro. This is source-based, and a lot of shit gets done by hand it seems.
between 2008-12-27 and 2009-01-12 - 1.6.4 i686 (VirtualBox) ∞
I last edited these notes 2009-01-13 and overwrote its original creation date, so I'm not certain when I tested this.
The Xfce developers use this distribution.
It has kernel 2.6.27.10. I wish it had 2.6.29 so that my webcam would have support. Oh well.
I had to actually look up how to install XOrg. =/
lin XOrg7
When using lin, I cannot control-c to abort it. I have to switch to another term and
killall -9 lin
Oh, I should just install my window manager and let it pull in all the dependencies. It took me a while to figure out what xfce is there.
You can search through /var/lib/lunar/moonbase
to find the application you want.
Installing everything:
lin xfce4
Heh, it thinks XOrg7 for X11 support is an optional dependency. Funny.
But the networking wasn't working. Have to reconfigure:
lnet
I got it working, although I found a bug with 'Manage network devices' giving a string of errors. After a successful reconfigure, this menu entry worked as-expected. After this, the other term with lin xfce4
automatically continued on its way. Sweet.
I eventually got:
Building pixman version 0.12.0 /var/lib/lunar/moonbase/xorg7/lib/pixman/BUILD: line 2: /etc/profile.d/x11r7.rc: No such file or directory Creating /var/log/lunar/compile/pixman-0.12.0.bz2 ! Problem detected during BUILD
So I'll try to redo it, but without pixman
, whatever that is.
Nope, can't do that. It just won't work and I don't know how to stop it from trying. I give up.
This distro fails.
