Benefits of Ki and Ki-Aikido ∞
We are delighted by the feedback from many of our members concerning their Ki practices.
All of them, including the older folks and ladies, expressed amazement at the ease in which Ki-Aikido arts can be executed so effectively despite their age and gender.
These are some of their exclamations:
- Hey! It really works, you know. No physical effort whatsoever! Just extend Ki…see.
- Every time I exert physically, my Aikido art cannot work! Yah, but I can’t help it, lah!

Come on, why do you fall beforehand? Sorry, sorry. I didn’t know Ki is so powerful!
It is important to have a systematic approach to the study of Ki-Aikido.
Study the following note carefully in order to maximize the benefits of your practice in class.
Your outlook is crucial for your rapid progress. We will elaborate further in future notes.
Aikido ∞
It is said that an understanding of Aikido will not be complete if ki is not well understood. If the focus is on the Aikido movements alone, the students will only polish his Aikido techniques. That is all!
Ki ∞
Without specific Ki training, practicality of Aikido as a martial art will become obvious at the advance stage.
It is common practice for Ki-Aikido senior members to test each other’s capability at this stage. This is done in a friendly and modest manner.
This is when some students will start feeling puzzled when they fail to succeed.
Why is that so?
If Ki is not carefully emphasized, the internal aspects of Aikido will be overlooked.
Its effectiveness will gradually become restricted with more powerful opponent.
This is a very serious oversight.
Aikido should therefore be used for the study of KI power. It should be a means to advance our Ki development.
What is even more important is to first study Ki independently. Otherwise, progress in Aikido can still be limited.
Martial Arts ∞
Of course, if members wish to concentrate on practicing Ki-Aikido as a martial art, by all means! It is enjoyable anyway, given the free flow of KI.
As we progress, however, we should give serious thoughts to understanding Ki in depth.
There are many methods to develop Ki power. Ki-Aikido is just one of the effective ways.
The fun really begins with the study of Ki using the Aikido arts. It’s so compatible!
Mind & Body Coordination ∞
Ki-Aikido lessons reveal so many ways in which we use our body wrongly. Without fail, everyone get to realize his clumsiness. Many a time, this results from needless physical exertions causing undue tensions.
The correction begins with an understanding of mind and body coordination through the four basic principles. That’s when they begin to appreciate that physical strength, though impressive, has its limitations. It immediately dawns on them that the effortless Ki flow is truly powerful. It conserves physical energy too!
This flow matures as we practiced Ki to a ripe old age! It opens the mind to realize that all of us can be active and powerful regardless of age, sex, size or even handicap
