A modification of Bitstream Vera with serifs.
A wonderful font I got to use with Notepad3 and LibreOffice Calc.

- 2025-09-23 on Windows 11 Pro
- Earlier than 2025-09-13 on Windows 11 Home
-
macOS two versions, something old and something new; who cares.
- Something like 15 or whatever was the new one.
Bitstream Vera ∞
macOS Verily Serif Mono on LibreOffice Calc ∞
2015-09-23 on whatever macOS on whatever LibreOffice… not recorded.
It wasn’t the latest macOS, but was pretty new. On a MacBook M1
Problem: While the self-edited VerilySerifMono.otf does work on macOS (e.g. with Geany), that font does not appear in the list of fonts for LibreOffice Calc to do its font swap with.
Attempted solutions:
- A TTF prepared by FontForge also did not work.
-
Manually copying either of those resulting fonts within the LibreOffice file structure also did not have a font appear.
Solution:
- Modify
VerilySerifMono.otfvia https://cloudconvert.com/otf-to-ttf -
Install it via the usual manner into macOS (Font Book) and overwriting the previous one worked in Geany and LibreOffice Calc.

Removing digraphs ∞
I used FontForge, and I don’t know how I did it. I remember doing a major repair effort after, with its automated functionality. Contact Me if you really need it.

I’ve been using this for a while now; some months.
