It's okay to contact content authors ∞
Whenever you act as a consumer -- use a piece of software, watch a video or read an article or just a comment -- and it brightens your day or informs your life, please think about leaving even the smallest reply. These matter more than you may ever realize.
One moment of your writing will impact uncounted hours of a person's future efforts. One minute of your time will brighten years for another. If all we have is kindness, maybe that's the one thing that another might need.
If something matters to you, then you matter to it.

I require comment authors to be logged in to help avoid spam. If you do not have an account, then get an OpenID. It's easy, and it'll also work elsewhere.
Before commenting on something old, read Message in a bottle.
I read comments before they become publicly visible.

Perhaps I never got your email, I lost your email, or I don't like you.
If a lot of time has passed, the conversation probably lost priority and re-emailing me is probably a good idea.
If a followup email doesn't reach me, then it's possible your email got sent to spam for some reason, and commenting on some random post would get my attention to search for it.
If that still doesn't work, then either I don't like you or I died. My next of kin probably won't have access to my email. Feel free to keep trying, as eventually my hosting will get cancelled and emails will bounce.
