Writing >
This was written shortly after my attending the birthday party of a woman I love very much. At the time I was in tune enough to understand just enough of her inner self to know that the birthday party she was planning for herself wouldn't be as good if it she were surprized with it two hours early.
Just days after writing this it became the first hit for "surprize party" on Google and spurred my writing on for some time. More than a year later, I look to see that it's still number one. I'm shocked, but I'm glad that somehow, and for such a long time, fate continued to agree with the importance of this strange little note.
It should have probably been spelled "surprise", but I was dumb at the time. Oh well..
Girls don't like surprize parties ∞
There is a certain sort of girl, I think, who wouldn't want a surprize-party. Here's why.
First, if one is thinking of running around with her for the day to prep her house, she's going to get tuckered out. Sure, you're spending lots of fab quality time.. which is really awesome. (Oh, and why can't you do that when you don't feel obligated? You don't need an excuse.) You're spending that time, energizing her.
However, when she comes home she's going to want to relax. That's what home is for. That's why she's going back there.
So she walks in and there's an instant-party. Yay, surprize. Attention. Affection.
She hasn't had a chance to wind-down and chill out. She hasn't had a chance to spend post-plan time with her travelling buddy.
She doesn't have time to prepare herself.. to shower, to pamper herself, to get in the groove.. so to speak.
From one set of plans straight to another.. it's a lot of work. She may commit herself to the responsability of her (your) party, she may even really live it up.. but it's nothing compared to the amount of fun she'd have planning and pampering and comforting herself beforehand.
Instead, take her out to lunch, an art gallery and then surprize her with a spa appointment with her bestest girlfriend. Prep her house while she's away.. then have her walk in on a clean place. No people. Tell her she's got two hours before the gang comes back from a movie-night.
Ply her for some cuddle-time. Putter around making entrees. Toss on a DVD she's seen a million times but really likes the ending of. Pamper her with kisses and a Massage. Fake it, it's easy. She already realises you have no kloo, quit the act and just chill with her.
She spends a day away, has some serious recharge-time and then is flooded by the affection of a revved-up gang of friends.
If you want to be really thorough, if the option exists, check with her girlfriend(s) for timing, etc.. they feel things out and can make sure that she's got the right kind of laundry done and whatnot. You don't want her expecting a party in two hours and not having anything to wear. =)

[[Girls don't like surprize parties]] has lost its [[google]] rank so it's been ported from an even earlier content management system. Thank you horrible uptime and broken [[mod_rewrite]]! Sigh. ;(
