Virtual machine software. Stillborn.
Plex86 was originally designed as an open source VMWare alternative; a virtual machine. It was then reborn anew into another project which itself was stillborn. This reborn project was meant to rewrite it such that one could run Linux guests on a Linux host.. which is no longer the universal virtual machine concept (any x86 OS guest on an x86 OS, probably Linux, host).

- Their earlier plan (years back) was to supplement Bochs, ie, use Plex86 to executed non-privileged code and pass privileged code to bochs. But because of limited resource they are tuning it for Linux.
