Creating a loop at the end of a line ∞
While this can be used to the end of a line to a closed object, it's just a loop so it will slip along an object.
Tying the middle of a line to a closed object (ring, pole) ∞
Rethreaded Alpine Butterfly - Requires a loose end.
Alpine Bunny knot - Requires that the ring either has something else attached or is is in use.
Bowline knot ∞
(Bowline)
It might come a little loose if not under a load. To avoid that, give it a hitch knot at the base as the finishing step.

How to tie the Double Uni Knot! (tie any two lines together!)
- by Just The Lip Fishing
- Not suitable for two fishing lines which are very thick, because they tend to not bend well enough to make a decent knot, and make a huge knot that won't fit through things.
- Not suitable for one fishing line which is thick and another which is thin, because the thick doesn't bend well and the thin might slip through.
