My favourite songs are more ambient/atmospheric or focus strongly on Anneke van Giersbergen's strong vocals.

Marjolein Kooijman is hot as all hell, but slouches.
My introduction to The Gathering was through hearing their song Liberty Bell on KnuckleTracks XII (12) - (1999 CD).
Lacuna Coil used to open for The Gathering, and the final time I saw them in concert, when Anneke was leaving the band, The Gathering opened for Lacuna Coil and their final song was Liberty Bell.
