Determine the memory use of a program.
Reportedly more accurate than Ganglia.
- As this script has had updates in maxzheng's repository I won't consider this abandoned as-such.
-
MILLE-XTERM (mille-xterm.org) was integrated to LTSP-Cluster (ltsp-cluster.org) which is gone, but LTSP exists. I couldn't find this script/project there.
Usage ∞
-
Create a xrestop log:
xrestop -t 1 -b > mem.log
- The threshold is set in order to get rid of insignificant applications. There is an example on the left of xrestop graph that show tests with OpenOffice.org.
- Start applications under testing. The log is written each second, so take your time otherwise you will not notice a memory burst.
-
When the test is over, you can obtain the graphic with:
mem.py mem.log
