A phenomenal video card, most notable for being able to achieve 132×60 textmode in DOS.

Better 2D speed than the ASUS Radeon 9600 XT/TVD.

I decided to switch video cards back to my old Matrox Mystique 220 from the ASUS Radeon 9600 XT/TVD. I’m liking the 2D speed improvement already.
Strangely, an odd warping effect can be seen on things.. at the edges of windows and throughout vertical lines. It’s subtle. This has to be a video card or driver issue, because I can move the window and the warping appears fixed to where it is.
Imagine a box, with the fine lines of the left and right sides subtly bent (and consistently on both the left and right). Then imagine moving it and having the shape stay the same no matter where it is positioned within the screen.
Neato.. it’s warped. Maybe I should try a different card (I have a few of these..)
Meh, maybe later..
Oh, It was some kind of wonky resolution or refresh rate doing it. Succumbing to the inevitably sensible defaults of PCLinuxOS was the way to go. PCLinuxOS, I’m sorry I ever doubted you.
