In light of the recent flaming over consulting machine names, I’ve come up with a list of possible themes for names.

• Major religious figures ^[ 2 ] e.g. one of the Catholic Popes

• Grisly means of dying
• Vulgarities and swear words
• Cult Leaders
• Pre-Hellenic ^[ 3 ] i.e. Ancient Greece philosophers

• Sports illustrated swimsuit models

• Times of the day
• Names of narcotics

• Members of Menudo
• Famous transforms (Fourier, Laplace, Runge-Kutta)

• Programming languages ^[ 4 ] Programming (BASIC, APL, PILOT)

• Nations ^[ 5 ] Former-nations would be rather interesting.
• Just words beginning with the letter X
• Different speeds of film
• Stupid1, stupid2, stupid3, …
• Types of pork ^[ 6 ] e.g. ham, bacon
• Latin names for bones in the human body.
• Cuts of beef (it would offend Krishna…)
• Signs of the zodiac
