I agree with Ray Bradbury, who found the miniseries “just boring”. I couldn’t give this show much of a chance because it really shows its age.
Humans visit Mars and find alien life.
This series is immediately dated in all aspects. Acting, effects, wardrobe, sets, etc. It appears restricted to 1970s technology. It doesn’t appear it was trying to push boundaries or had a big budget.
I think it likely that no television programme or movie in this era can survive the test of time. Maybe this will remain true even as we progress in time, where only things made thirty or fewer years ago can remain reasonably watchable without requiring niche interest. I think people who grow up in an era are vulnerable to appreciating any genre from that era.
“In January 1999”.. hehehe.
Oh god, the music. Something akin to disco.. in science fiction.
There is a narrator. This is never a good sign.
I had originally seen part of the first episode some time ago, though I forgot about it until now. I re-watched the entire first episode and it’s too dated for me to appreciate it. I won’t continue through the rest of it.
