An unknown event gave alternate-past Victorian Londoners a random superpower, and their numbers became pronounced enough to attract the attention of worried politicians. Or something.

Really interesting! I guess it's worth watching, but it slide sideways and got too strange to follow. It really needed more seasons to figure it's shit out, but the woke brigade MeToo-dogpiled Joss Whedon without evidence so he got shunned.

Survivors of a plague are blind, and the result is a world just unnecessarily shitty enough to set a show in.

I mean.. it's weak. The world building and motivations require me to park my brain and then I just get really distracted watching stupidity.

Aliens wipe out most of humanity for some reason, then they choose to not wipe out the rest of humanity for some reason, then stragglers struggle to survive and such.

Really really awkward writing. There is so much that makes no sense whatsoever, even in the context of the show itself. It has snippets of potential but it's overall torturous for anyone who tends to pay attention; not recommended.

Synthetic humans are created, but once again philosophers weren't involved, and when some present intelligence and emotion they take umbrage at being slaves.

Adequate, but neither revelatory nor particularly interesting. Not particularly recommended except for people who like the general topic (which is why I made a tag for it).

Following a colony in prehistoric times founded by people from the future.

Kinda okay I guess; the people are pretty.

  • Abandoned: Although successful, only one season was produced.

    • I bet it was cancelled because that first season ended weak.

Colonists from a ruined Earth struggle to survive on a distant world.

I don't like the characters, and it's boring..

Unfrozen after 300 years, the captain of the most powerful ship in existence moves to rebuild his fallen Commonwealth with the help of a rag-tag group of civilians.

This series is (was) high quality with a light (sometimes cheesy) mood. Although I can say I love this series, it definitely takes a nosedive later in its life, and absolutely fails miserably in its final "wrap-up" season. It's like these writers sabotage their own work.

Upon re-watching this, I can say that I do enjoy it, but it's definitely pulp/drama as opposed to being actually-awesome. There are some layers to it, but its general theme of being "fun" gets in the way too frequently to have those subtle moments elevate the rest of it.
