Global disaster survivors on a space station send 100 youths down who find an unfamiliar and dangerous world.
A mess of a Lord of the Flies meets teen-angst series.
This pilot immediately starts off stupid. I guess they really wanted to get into it, but I would have liked to have more content set on the station. Right away I’m missing bits and pieces, like how there a lot of people on the station in the first place, and enough people on the station for there to justify draconian law.
Oh fuck, then it gets right “the young are stupid and unruly”. Then some rock music. The pilot slides this series into a 14 year old “rebel” teen bubblegum summer movie. I wouldn’t have been surprised at an appearance of a 14-year-old Miley Cyrus to turn this into some sort of Indian-esque music video.
So it turns out the show flips back and forth between the ground and the station. I suppose this will give ample opportunity to explain everything and balance the childishness with everyday adult-level drama.
All in all, this is another “safe” series. It doesn’t feel right to me. I’d bet it’s because this is written for an entirely different generation of brainwashed children, and not mine.
