  • Search Autosizer

    • While this works, it has two major issues.
      -- 1. If I move my location bar up to my menu, and I move the search button to its right, and the search was configured to just be an expanding button, then using it will first hop the search field down to the regular toolbar row and then start expanding as I type. If I make an additional toolbar and place the search area on the original toolbar, then the "hop" goes down to my newly-created search area.
      -- 2. I need to be able to press escape to clear the field and return the cursor focus back to where I was on the page. Right now it's annoying to need to delete all the content to re-hide the text field.

    • For blog editing. But not for free blogs, only for self-hosted blogs.

  • ThumbsDown

    • Download helper, can even download images when they're wrapped in a sub-page - requires DownThemAll!
    • FAILS: Way WAY too unnecessarily convoluted. I'd have an easier time doing it myself.

  • show failed url

    • This extension removes that bloody popup alert, and gives you a clean inline notice with a retry link. Your failed url is still left in the location bar. Everything as it should be.
    • Unfortunately the retry link is fugly.
    • not supported for anything over 1.0 .. apparently the author has disowned it too, because it's not listed on his home page: https://www.bigdropinc.com/resources/mozilla/
    • reportedly obsolete. Maybe this is true, because I don't see a user.js .. hrm.

    • A modification of the Firefox download manager that improves its appearance and allows it to be opened in a separate window, a new tab, or the sidebar.

    • Of note: middle-click on the back and forward buttons to decrement or increment numbered URLs. (Similar to the Next/Prev Image extension.)

  • Find Statusbar

    • Adds a status-bar to the Find dialog. The main advantage to this is that you are no longer interrupted with that intrusive prompt if your search string is not found.

  • Jumplink

    • Allows you to skip through redirect links and jump directly to the target link. This is especially useful within Hotmail messages where all links are opened in a frame displaying at the top the useless "Close this window to return to Hotmail", but it will work with other links that make you jump through unnecessary hoops.

    • Enables you to open links and mailto:'s with external applications.

    • Adds an advanced text editor to Firefox. The editor offers quick editing of chrome and user.js files, html preview, document history, autobackup, find/replace with regex, JavaScript Console, multiple document buffers, a command line to run programs, and an 'Edit in Mozedit' Tools menu option.

    • Ability to set FB offline

  • Preferential

    • Aims to provide all users of Gecko browsers (eg. Mozilla, Firefox) with a simple, accessible GUI that allows the modification of any preference set within that browser environment.
  • http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/clav/ PrefButtons - Takes the most frequently used items from the Preferences Toolbar (fonts, colours, java, javascript etc.), and adds them to the normal toolbar customisation dialogue, for you to place where you want.

  • Scribe

    • Adds Word Processor-like functionality to web forms, including opening and saving form entries as files.

    • Treats selected plain text URLs, and email addresses as links and adds options to the context menu on how to use these.

  • Flipper

    • Browse and download galleries of images by defining a gallery range and an image range. (Fusker) -- Doesn't seem to work. Who thought up control-end to bring up the control panel?
    • DownThemAll! does well for this sort of thing..

  • Magpie

    • Media collecton aid.
    • Magpie is an add-on for Firefox that allows you to quickly save media (images, videos) and other documents that you find on the internet. It is designed to help you quickly bulk-download media linked from web pages, as well as numeric ranges of files from sites using the Bukster protocol. Magpie also includes tools for adjusting a site's URL by incrementing/decremeting numbers in it, and for "sanitizing" links to real content by stripping off redirector script prefix/suffixes.

  • This Window

    • A pretty trivial extension that adds the ability to force a window to open in the current window. This is helpful if you don't want to open another browser window.
    • Didn't seem to actually work. Curious.

  • Download With

    • Download files with external programs like wget, prozilla, Downloader for X, Flashget, Download Accelerator Plus and GetRight
    • Crashes the browser when installed.

  • MIME Type Editor

    • Crash on install. Works for one use, then it vanishes. Doesn't install properly.
