A low-dependency (X/Motif) easy-to-use GUI text editor.
WAY too ugly.
NEdit was reported as working fine on Mac[doesn't exist]/X11 (I have no notes as to where)

It's still ugly as sin!
- It has a font selector built-in, but .. it's all terrible. I'd sooner use a console editor than this.
- Doesn't use double-hyphens like
--version
but only single ones like-version
-
Ruby support still isn't included.
- I didn't try

- Also a favourite. It's pretty fugly though. =/
- Ruby-capable.
- Has some plugins and such.. (not explored)
-
To do: beautify it:
\nedit -xrm '*fontList: -*-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-*-*'
.. or do it permanently see https://web.archive.org/web/20071014232621/http://www.nedit.org/help/customize.php
Ruby support ∞
It used to be available at ftp://ftp.talc.fr/pub/ruby/ruby.nedit-0.1.tar.gz
but that link is broken and was not archived.
