(tested via my experimentation during Lilo is better than Grub)
Tested 2.6.18.6-2
I tried the base out, because it also worked like a rescue disk.
- Wow, slick-fast bootup. Shocking!
- It doesn’t have Nano!
-
Holy crap, it beeps all the time! This is just like my old Slackware experience. Good times, but now I’m being reminded of some bad memories.
- Funny that due to some recent research I could probably trivially disable the beep. Also, it was kindof nice to hear the beep, because it meant that I had no BIOS or hardware issues with the PC speaker.
- vi has syntax highlighting
- Wicked fast reboot! I mean seriously fast!
-
chrooted into the right partition, checked the /etc/lilo.conf and ran LILO. Lilo works as expected. Good old Slackware.
sda3 boots fine, networking is shot and the Kernel is pointing to bad versions.
sda2 works – that’s what I’m back on now. Phew, I missed my proper setup.
I’m not even going to try sda1
