A failure of a delivery boy is frozen for a thousand years, where in the year 3,000 he’s an interstellar delivery boy who continues to fail a lot.
A hilarious and intelligent show, with many subtleties. Watch an episode or three, and if you’re interested then you’ll enjoy the rest. Highly recommended.
I watched a couple of seasons before my interest petered out. I want to do other things with my time.
For me, it’s inconsistent with it’s laugh-out-loud comedy, but even at its poorest reception it’s fairly entertaining. It’s smarter than bubblegum entertainment, with subtext, subtlety and various references.
I think cartoons dodge most of the problems of continuity and seriousness which I’d require of other shows. Maybe it’s just that this is a comedy that I let it off so easily.
It really is entertaining, and recommended for when you’re either in a certain kind of mood or want to get to that certain mood.
This series is probably worth watching more than once, if not to catch its subtleties then just because there’s so much there that a later re-watch will still be quite fresh. I don’t mean this in terms of the number of episodes but that each episode is quite packed with material.
Do not judge this show based on The Simpsons – (1989 show)!

When it first came out Futurama was an important addition to animation comedy. The Simpsons best seasons were behind them and the genre needed new blood to keep it afloat. Something different but relatable for the majority.
South Park is revered among its fanbase but it holds little attraction for everyone else. Shows that hold mass appeal without being generic are what keep a genre going.
Needless to say, I loved it.
