Starting this March (early), I will be pursuing Rotating immersion again. In no particular order, the things I am primarily interested in working on during March, April, May and June are:
This page will be regularly updated and will have links to all these major topics.
Continues with 2013 third-quarter immersion.
Operating system ∞
-
Reinstall a 32bit OS
- World of Warcraft requires 64bit. 32bit is too slow, no matter how I fiddle.
-
Complete my backup script revisions.
- SD card UUID-based backups.
- Still TODO
-
Migrate from zsh to bash2.
- Only if bash-completion can replace what zsh does.
- Delayed, a separate project.
-
Apparmor or similar Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
- Delayed, a separate project.
-
Steam
- Delayed, a separate project.
-
Btrfs learning - undeletion and change reviewing.
- Delayed, a separate project.
-
git learning
- Learn change reviewing.
- Delayed, a separate project.
-
Reshape archives to include my most recent games and Steam.
- delayed
-
Review black theming.
- delayed
-
Proper i/o separation and routine development
- bookmarks, scrapbooks, inbox (media, etc), email, software reviewing (including old stuff), etc...
- This should allow me to go through my massive backlog.
-
Continuing.
Firefox ∞
I did a lot for this, but I was unable to remove my dependency from it.
- Scrapbooking - The concept should be made addon-agnostic, and should be put back into the filesystem in a more sane way. The addon itself should be modified to maintain its directories more sensibly - not as numbers, perhaps by title.
- Publicize all knowledge.
-
Migrate away from Firefox, probably to Midori.
- Can't, Midori isn't up to the task of importing bookmarks.
-
Tools research - what internet/surfing-related tools do I use? Why? What can they be replaced with?
- External downloader
- Passwords ( keepassx )
-
Bookmarks?
World of Warcraft ∞
I did very little for this. Delayed.
- Publicize all knowledge. Especially config knowledge.
- Complete all todos.
-
Scrapbook/WoW exists. It was kept separate and should be reviewed.
LibriVox ∞
I did nothing for this.
- Complete one chapter myself.
- .. then open a project and get help for non-voicework.
- Create a fixed schedule and deadline.
-
Set long-term goals.
Based on how this goes, I may be able to continue working on projects indefinitely and not as a project that's part of a quarterly-immersion.
