A button bar helper thingy.
A bit rough in some cases but definitely usable and has some really awesome functionality. It’s also a hotkey manager! AWESOME. You can set hotkeys right from your spellbook. Also your macros, but make sure your macros don’t move around.. =/
/bongos for the gui, or /bongos menu for the text menu.
Configuration ∞
-
‘minimap’ (top-right)
- drag it down a bit so that interacting with it won’t show the top Fubar bar.
right-click, and de-select all of: Show Zoom Buttons, Show Day/Night Indicator, Show Map Button, Show Time.
- ‘roll’ (left) – drag it to the right so that it wouldn’t be overtop of your party UnitFrames.
- ‘xp bar’ (top thin bar) –
middle-clickit to hide it - ‘stats’ (top, right area) – carefully mouseover it (Fubar un-hiding may get in the way) and drag it under the xp bar where you can see it. It will “snap” and middle-align itself automatically. Then
middle-clickit to hide it. It’s mostly-useless except for filing a gm report. To do that, type/bongosthen un-lock your bars,middle-clickthe menu bar to show it, lock your bars, then click the “?”. Yes, it’s a pain and I’m open to better suggestions. I wonder if bongos has slash commands to make this easier or if I could make a macro+hotkey. - ‘bags’ (bottom, right) – drag it under your ‘stats’ bar at the top-middle. Then
middle-clickit to hide it. It is obsoleted by Baud Bag and assigning thebkey to open all of your bags. - ‘menu’ (bottom, right) – drag it under your ‘bags’ bar at the top-middle. Then
middle-clickit to hide it. - ‘cast’ (middle) – drag it under your ‘menu’ bar at the top-middle. Then
middle-clickit to hide it. It is obsoleted by “Quartz” I believe. - ‘ActionBar 1’ (middle) – This is a huge mass of action bars. Don’t panic. Drag the first one down to the bottom-middle area. If your ‘roll’ bar moves with it, get your roll bar back into its original position.
- ‘ActionBar 2’ (middle) – move left and down a bit.
- ‘ActionBar 3’ (middle) – move underneath ‘ActionBar 1’. Then
middle-clickto hide it. You will interact with bars 1-6 by pressingshift-cursor up/shift-cursor downto select it, then dragging icons to it as usual. - ‘ActionBar 4’ (middle) – move underneath ‘ActionBar 2’. Then
middle-clickto hide it. - ‘ActionBar 5’ (middle) – move underneath ‘ActionBar 3’. Then
middle-clickto hide it. - ‘ActionBar 6’ (middle) – move underneath ‘ActionBar 4’. Then
middle-clickto hide it. - ‘ActionBar 6’ (middle) – move underneath ‘ActionBar 5’. Then
middle-clickto hide it. - ‘ActionBar 7’ (middle) – move underneath ‘ActionBar 6’. But move it down a bit further so you can see the separation between 6 and 7. Then
middle-clickto hide it. You will interact with bar 8 by typing/bongosthen un-lock your bars,middle-clickthis menu bar to show it, lock your bars again, interacting with those bars, then locking it again. - ‘ActionBar 8’ (middle) – move above ‘ActionBar 1’.
- ‘ActionBar 9’ (middle) – move above ‘ActionBar 8’.
- ‘ActionBar 10’ (middle) –
right-clickit > change columns to 6. Then drag it to the bottom-right but not touching that right edge. - ‘pet’ (middle) – drag it above ‘ActionBar 9’. Notice how it snaps but leaves a space? That’s because this bar is reduced in size. I like to drag the bottom-right corner out a bit to scale it up a bit so it matches my other bars better and my hotkeys are more visually intuitive.
-
After all the above mess, type
/bongos- General > lock bars
- ActionBar > Lock Button Positions (un-check)
- Profiles > click ‘Save’ > type “Default” > click the new entry for “Default” > click Set > click the old entry > click ‘delete’.
- Bindings > Be Certain that ‘Character Specific Key Bindings’ is selected!. I set up my three rows of action bars with
1through to=thenshift 1through toshift =thenalt 1through toalt =. Now I almost never use hotkeys past 5 but the option is there and it seems very intuitive to me. To add a hotkey, hover your mouse over an action bar and then press the hotkey.

This interferes with RicoMiniMap because Bongos also has some minimap features..
