A P2P daemon, which requires a network protocol such as openFT or gnutella. Any number of frontends are also recommended.

So far, giFT has proved to do what it is made for. Most problems will appear to me to be the fault of the frontend, but there may well need to be certain features inserted into either the openFT protocol, the giFT daemon or the frontend.. it’s difficult to say.

Apollon seems to be a nice client, and it does other networks as well.

So far, I approve. There are some not insignificant problems as far as a lack of features, but this client works as expected.

Yes, I have been able to segfault giFTcurs.. fear me.

• Be able to rename a file as it’s being downloaded / afterwards
• Be able to launch files from the transfer screen, including partial downloads.
• Be able to have some file extensions saved to one dir, and other extensions to other dirs.
• Be able to delete a search topic
• mix upper and lower case files in the sort
• save my sort preferences
• be able to see the directory in which a file is located
• be able to show a better dropdown list of all of the search items
• save the searches for later review
• be able to automatically re-search items
• hotlist functionality
• be able to exclude filenames which have too many characters, or pipe them in a separate window, as there are a lot of bs items.
• indicate long filenames with a little right-arrow on the right-hand side

• be able to scroll through to see the rest of a long filename
