Linux-style alt-drag to move windows on macOS
A fork of Easy Move+Resize with different usage.
- 2022-11-22 – likely 2.0.0(3) on macOS 13 (Ventura) on an Apple Macbook Pro A1278 – 13″ Laptop
- 2022-11-19 – likely 2.0.0(3) on macOS 10.15 (Catalina) on an Apple Macbook Pro A1278 – 13″ Laptop
-
2022-11-19 – I considered Easy Move+Resize
2022-11-19 – likely 2.0.0(3) ∞
- It resizes only from the bottom-right corner, which sucks
Fnwon’t work since I disable it (which doesn’t matter)- TODO – report — You cannot disable either of it’s features. Both move and drag have to have associated hotkeys.
-
When fullscreen with two apps, “drag” move the slider. Neat!
brew tap finestructure/Hummingbird brew install --cask Hummingbird xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Hummingbird.app # Launch on startup: osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to make login item at end with properties {path:"/Applications/Hummingbird.app", hidden:true}'

native support ∞
Enable control-cmd-leftclick in any window and drag to move, let go of Cmd during the drag to allow the window to snap to the screen/window edges.

Applications > Utilities > Terminal, and:
# to add defaults write -g NSWindowShouldDragOnGesture -bool true # to remove defaults delete -g NSWindowShouldDragOnGesture
Reportedly does not work with all applications.
-
2022-11-20 on macOS Catalina – (10.15) — did not work for me.

I don’t think I’m going to bother even trying other/more complex/payware apps.
Installed on 13.0.1 (Ventura)
