Consider traveler’s resources like couch surfing, hostels, backpacking etc. Putting the bulk of your things in storage and couch surfing might be what you need to save money for a place.
Don’t forget that if you live in a more socialist country, there are always welfare resources for people either out of work or at risk or already living on the streets.
Where I am, there are food banks. Find and use them.

While many resources can help with food and shelter, you must also find social support. Depression is very real, even for the “strong”.
If you can keep your internet going, you can find decent stuff pretty easily. Don’t get trapped by entertainment, look for human connection. I don’t care if you play World of Warcraft and call roleplay or raiding social, figure out what works for you.
Knowledge ∞
Sometimes it isn’t about escape, but about conversation. For example, living with religious people can be taxing. Problems can escalate quickly, and destroy relationships. Understanding is a valuable tool.
I expect that in time I’ll be creating a topic just for atheist topics.

In particular, resources for men subject to legal or physical abuse are extraordinarily rare. Rare to the point of being misandry.
