Soldiers, separated from their opposing factions, travel with the last techno-druid to their sacred land, hoping for knowledge.
I wanted this to be good, but it’s as though it had all the most boring parts of any random anime, except this was live-action. Not recommended, even for people who might like the concept.
-
The Japanese-ness wreaks of desperation to me. The font is especially disingenuous.
- Oh! I recognize Lance Henriksen.
- Wowzers, Mélanie St-Pierre (Khara22, Khara23) is really good looking.
- Obvious trap is obvious.
- Sigh, roller-skates? See also Jupiter Ascending.
- Really not a whole lot of talking. I guess there was nothing to talk about. This is a contrast from so many other movies which would have constant nattering even in combat.
- Weird ears are weird.
- So where did they get that.. tank? from?
- The gunfight-to-combat makes no sense. Just stand at a distance and shoot.. but, uh, bullet parrying? Oh right, it’s Japanese. So this is a live-action anime?
- Kevin Durand, acting like Kevin Durand, is distracting.
- Why would they give the unnecessary 666 number to a character?
- So the tank stopped before the forest because it couldn’t get in, but then it’s able to roll right through to get into combat.
- Mana is used several times, but it’s effects are never revealed. It would be nice if it were an adrenaline boost or it were actually used to heal. It seems to be more like a drink.
- Oh, she’s able to ninja-leap around now.
- Why the hell would the gods fear what they created? They could trivially kill them all if they were some future-threat.
-
“For they are a jealous god.” .. really getting heavy-handed with this stuff.
Ugh, this was only held aloft by the pretty girl.
