A bad dad and some shitty kids run away when aliens come down and up and stomp around.

While it's a great ride, it's ultimately unsatisfying and can't be recommended.

A veteran mercenary is double-crossed and finds himself blacklisted into becoming a general in hell's army.

This is a very high low-budget movie. It's over-the-top, corny but only almost-fun. Some of the effects are amazing, but some are so damned bad I can't imagine how they thought this could be anything more than a middling success. From a writing perspective, it's not bad moment-to-moment, but the overall plot is a bit stupid.

This has nothing going for it but the incredible acting of a clown.

Two worlds are connected and one of the worlds has a lot of monsters who somehow live without anything to eat and also are persistent assholes.

The actual movie starts two thirds in, and there are so many terrible writing decisions; oh god it's so bad.
