A video editor. I think. What even is this?

• Ugly.

  • .. and I see no way to remove the theme.
• Keeps a commandline window open. Closing it kills Natron.

• Wait.. what even is this? Is this a video editor?

• Its initial startup..

  • is abysmally slow, especially “Updating fontconfig cache”
  • is a window which is above everything, cannot be moved and cannot have anything raised above it.

• Has no alt-tab icon

  • No, this is wrong, it keeps a fucking commandline window open. At least I can manually close that.
• Does not suggest an “Open with”

• I was expecting space to play/pause the video.

What the fuck, I have no idea what’s going on.

Use case:

• Open video

  • In explorer, right-click a video file > Open with > Natron
• Play the video
• Find a particular moment
• Set a keyframe at that moment
• Delete all the video content to the left of that moment
• Play the video
• Find a particular moment
• Delete all the video content to the right of that moment

• Export the video

• I had to close the project and begin anew for the play button to work.

• When I play,

  • it is god damned slow.
  • there is no audio. Even if the video were choppy, I would expect perfect audio.

I’m giving up early, because I found a way to do precisely what I want, using VLC.
