A large bundle of AddOns.

Had some great parts, but the overall project philosophies weren’t compatible with mine and I replaced their AddOns whenever possible. BUT I wouldn’t do that at the expense of a great addon so it stayed in my toolbox for a while.

Their updater is complete crap. Avoid.

2008-05-04 ∞

• Cosmos has a nice UnitFrames replacement, and check out Archaeologist for all kinds of good features. Also has PartyCastingBars to see what your party is casting.

  • Currently bugged for XP display but that’s minor.

• CharactersViews – Turn ‘optimal scaling’ OFF to prevent it from shrinking things to an unusable size.

To disable ∞

• Tooltips: Complete

  • Replaced by TipTac
• Detached minimap buttons isn’t needed.. I think it might be cosmos.

• DamageMeters is obsoleted by Recap.

To leave ∞

• FlightMap /flightmap

  • Disabling this disables the in-flight timer which Quartz displays. The actual flightmap itself is useless it seems, and is somehow covered by other AddOns.

Intro ∞

The reasons to not use this:

• Cosmos is made around the idea of collecting regularly-maintained Addons. It is not, however, a collection of useful Addons. So the fact that cosmos useful for users is just coincidental. Really, this should be a collection of authors working on an agreed-upon set of addons. Like a Linux distribution.

• Updating Cosmos is unreasonably slow.

Installation ∞

Download the ‘patcher’ and use that to install and manage things. You have to VERY HEAVILY reconfigure it to simplify things.

Configuration ∞

You’re fucked if you took 10 years to configure everything the first time and you made a new character. Have a nice day.

• Click the ugly blue swirly-looking icon
• Click ‘Khaos’

• At the top on the left, click ‘AddOns’ and disable: AtlasLootEnhanced, CensusPlus, Clock, DamageMeters, Fire, Localization, MiniGames, rpg-CharacterProfiler, Titan*

  • Some others are optional depending on your character: Divine Blessing, Enchantrix, EnchantrixBarker
  • Curse the developers for not adding a search feature.
• type /reloadui

• go back into Khaos

  • get frustrated writing this documentation

I can’t remove that damnable minimap button.

Visit Khaos Configure

• disable ‘party quests’.

  • You’ll still be able to see party quests by pressing l (ell) and then clicking the party quests button.

Troubleshooting ∞

flight paths don’t show up ∞

If you have a problem with flight paths, then disable cartographer from within the general cosmos UI.

duplicate text in the player/target frames ∞

mobinfo2 also has ‘target frame’ features which will overlay mana/health. Disable it since it’s covered by some other addon I use somewhere.
